New Directors at Dynamic Equity
Kristine Gibbon and William Robinson were elected on 15 October as new
directors of Dynamic Equity Venture Fund Ltd. Kristine was also appointed
as a director of Dynamic Equity Limited.
Kristine Gibbon is Group Vice-President for Business Development at Guardian
Holdings Ltd. Prior to joining Guardian, Kristine was at the Boston
Consulting Group, a top strategy consulting firm, and worked out of their
Toronto, Buenos Aires, Melbourne and New York offices. She has advised
Fortune 500 companies in the areas of strategy, mergers and acquisitions,
organizational efficiency, and e-commerce. Kristine holds a Bachelor of
Commerce (Honours) degree from Queen's University in Canada, and an MBA from the
Harvard Business School.
William Robinson is the Country Representative in Trinidad and Tobago of the
Inter-American Development Bank. From 1992 to 1999 he was Chief of the
Strategic Planning Division in the IADB. Before joining the IADB, William
worked in the Canadian International Development Agency where he held a number
of positions, including Deputy Director General in the Financial Institutions
Division, and Senior Programme Manager in the United Nations Division. He
also worked for the Canadian University Services Overseas. William holds a
Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature & Philosophy from the
University of Windsor, Canada, and an MA in Development Economics from Carleton
University, Canada.
Len Hackshaw, the Chairman, welcomed the new directors. He indicated that
Kristine replaces Brent Ford from Guardian Asset Management and William replaces
Michael O'Donnell from the IADB. The Chairman said: "We are sorry that
Brent and Mike are no longer available, as they played an important role in
setting up our company. We are very pleased, however, to have Kristine and
William joining us. I believe they are of the highest calibre, and look forward
to working with them."
Dynamic Equity is a local venture capital firm that currently manages $ 33
million of funds. Its main investors at present are Guardian Life of the
Caribbean and the Inter-American Development Bank. Its emphasis is to make
investments that support growth and expansion at medium-sized private companies.
