Ash is a very experienced industrialist, business manager and company
director. He is retired from a 28 year career at one of the largest
and most diversified conglomerates in the Caribbean. During this time he
served in a variety of capacities, including project engineer, plant engineer,
CEO, Director, or Chairman, at approximately twenty of the group's subsidiaries
throughout the Caribbean. He also served as a Director of the parent
company and a member of its Executive Committee, Chairman of its Energy and
Construction Group, and Chairman of its Guyana group.
Ash graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from the University
of the West Indies. He also trained at Bolton College for Technical
Teachers, Manchester University in Great Britain. He is a Fellow of the
Association of Professional Engineers of Trinidad & Tobago. His
professional experience encompasses education, industrial plant operations and
maintenance, project management and evaluation, turnaround management,
organisational development, and corporate restructuring, including the
establishment of joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate
divestments.
In other positions he is a Director of the Engineering Institute of the
University of the West Indies and has served as Chairman of the Youth Training
and Employment Partnership Programme (YTEPP) and as a Director of the National
Training Agency. He is also Chairman of two private companies: Weldfab
Ltd. and Resin Converters Ltd. |
