Victor is one of Trinidad's most respected bankers. He worked 42 years at Republic Bank, the country's largest bank, and its predecessor
and associated companies. He started that career in 1957 with Barclays
Bank International and worked in the United Kingdom, Bahamas, Guyana, Venezuela,
Grenada as well as T&T. He has been a Director of Republic Bank, of
National Commercial Bank in Grenada, National Bank of Industry & Commerce in
Guyana, and Acedo Mendoza Fincor in Venezuela.
Victor played a key role in the development of Republic's Trust Department, which
grew to become the largest administrator of Pension Plan Funds in the
country. As a key member of the Trust & Asset Management Committee for
over 20 years, he has held responsibility for the
investment decisions on an extensive internationally diversified multi-currency
portfolio. Victor was one of the founding executives of the Mercantile bank, and
until June 2007 an Executive Director of
FirstCaribbean bank in Trinidad.
Victor is a graduate of the Executive Management Programme at the Sloan
Business School of MIT in the USA. He is an associate of the Chartered
Institute of Bankers in the UK. He has been a member of the T&T
Central Tenders Board. He is also Chairman, Director or Trustee of half a
dozen charitable organisations in Trinidad.
